Field Day - A Letter from the Office of the President, Kevin Burke

Greetings. I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the progress of renovating and reconfiguring our athletic fields. Also, it is very important to me that you understand that I'm 100% behind the process because we need to improve the conditions of the fields we now play on and also to continue to attract new student families to Trinity. It would not have been appropriate to engage ourselves in this process four years ago. As your President and CFO, the time to "Get-It-Done" is now!

To date, Kaestel Boos Associates, Inc. was retained and produced a conceptual development plan. KBA then developed seven different site plans for the location and development of the new field with relocation of existing softball field and the possibility of a Field House.

The new synthetic turf field, which COULD accommodate soccer, football, lacrosse (currently plays all games "away") and field hockey (a new athletic sport addition if warranted by realistic agreed upon participation), would measure 185' X 360' with a 15' run-out area and allow for a 3' paved mow strip.

We all need to fully understand that some of our outdoor sporting events and practices compete with each other. The scheduling of events and practices will take a great deal of planning with coaches representing their particular discipline involved all sports.

Dr. Clarence Welti of Clarence Welti Assoc., Inc. was retained and completed a required Geotechnical Study which included soil borings and analysis for the development of the necessary design documents.

Several Consulting Firms have been interviewed to implement a Feasibility Case Study which will allow us to gauge the level of a Capital Campaign necessary to implement and complete this undertaking.

The diocese currently has put a hold on doing the case study to determine the correct timing of same so as not to interfere with the Bishop's Annual Appeal which ill assure success in our effort. The decision to implement our case study should be made very shortly.

On 2/28/07, I met with the land-use consulting firm of Redniss & Mead Inc. I have retained the firm to guide TCHS through the next phase of development which includes Zoning Board, EPA and other agency requirements.

At that meeting which was attended by parent Frank McGowan, it was agreed upon that in the most perfect world, a target date for beginning construction (money in the bank, shovel in the ground) would be June, 2009.

Sincerely,

Kevin T. Burke
President / CFO - TCHS
