September 9, 2006Big Expectations: Crusaders No. 8 in Connecticut Post Elite 8Yesterday The Connecticut Post unveiled the first entry in its preseason Elite 8 rankings - none other than the Trinity Catholic Crusaders. Says the Post: No. 8 Trinity Catholic. The Connecticut Post begins its Elite 8 football countdown: Surprised? Don't be. Though this team went 5-5 last year, inexperience cost it in a few games. Everybody's back, including a granite line led by Mario Pirolozzi (9 sacks last year), and a brusing backfield anchored by Eric Stevens, A.J. Nelson and QB Anas Koummal. The schedule isn't bad. Trinity knows its time is now. It figures to be in the running for an FCIAC title. — SEAN PATRICK BOWLEY (CT POST)
