May 3, 2006College Bound CrusadersSeveral class of 2006 Crusader football players have locked in on their college choices for next year. Captain Frank Telesco will continue his football career at SUNY Maritime College in the Bronx. The Privateers are an NCAA Divison III program which last season fielded a team for the first time in 17 years. Fellow Captain Gene DeVito is the only other senior who plans to continue his football career at the next level, having committed to D-II Assumption College in Worcester, MA. Andrew Shannon leads the graduating seniors guided by academic pursuits. He has been accepted into the prestigious Kinesiology program at the University of Connecticut. Anthony Gaglio will become a Hawk at the University of Hartford; Kenny Holbert will be a Pilgrim at New England College; and Tim Claroni will become a Stag of Fairfield University. The Crusader coaching staff has been in contact with 75 schools regarding next year's group of seniors. Recruiters from Villanova, Bucknell, and Hofstra are visiting this spring.
