January 24, 20062006 Crusader Football Captains NamedFour new Varsity football captains were named at the Crusader team banquet last week. Senior running backs Eric Stephens and Ryan Durkin, senior quarterback Anes Koummal, and senior defensive tackle Pat Cullen will lead the 2006 club in effort to improve on a 5-5 record. Several awards were also given out at the banquet held at the Italian Club. Wide receiver Gene DeVito was named Offensive Player of the Year. Matt Taccone was named Defensive Player of the Year. Alain Joseph received the Crusader Award and Andrew Shannon received the prestigious Mickey Lione Award.
