June 13, 2005Spring Football Game Shows PromiseThe Gold team Defeated the Green team 18-14 to end the Spring Football Season. The scoring opened in the first quarter with the Green Team's Matt Tacon plunging in from one yard out after Eric Stephens carried the ball down to the one. That score made it 6-0 Green Team. In the second quarter, Gene DeVito picked up a fumble and found the end zone to even the score at 6-6. After going to the half tied at 6, Kyle Foti took it in from the one yard line to give the gold team a 12-6 advantage in the third quarter. The green team responded with a 46 yard touchdown strike to Dave Macari. They added the first successful two point conversion of the day to take the lead 14-12 with just 5 minutes to go in the game. As time ticked down the Gold Team quarterback Anes Kummal found Gene DeVito deep down field for the winning touchdown. Adding the two point conversion was Tim Claroni. Gold Team 18 - Green Team 14 The Crusaders now begin summer conditioning sessions and start preparing for the season 95 days away when they open up against St. Joes at Home.
