May 19, 2005Crusader Great Named Stamford's Citizen of the YearCongratulations to Rick Robustelli, former Trinity (Stamford Catholic) quarterback for receiving Stamford's Citizen of the Year award. The award was presented Wednesday, May 18th at 6:30 at the Italian Center. The award is presented for contributions of time and energy to countless charitable organizations, especially those that help the youth of this city. Anyone who knows Rick has only one question for the nominating committee: "What took you so long?" Rick led the 1966 football team to an undefeated season and went on to star at the University of Connecticut. After his playing days ended, Rick returned to Stamford and has since become a successful business person and active member of the community. He is a loving and caring husband and father of four children, all of whom attented Trinity Catholic (Mark '94, Katie '96, Emily '99, Gred '03). His oldest son Mark was a member of Trinity Catholic's 1993 State Champion football team. As indicated by the award, Rick continues to epitomize the values and ideals of Trinity Catholic High School. He is one Crusader of whom we should all be proud. Congratulations, Rick!
